Fantasy Basketball: Week 6

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

My team did pretty well last week (winner against Dillon), and I have enjoyed watching the humor of other fantasy players. Janel has the best. Blake Griffin-as-a-little-kid commercials are great. Here's another! If you know any other funny NBA videos, please leave them in the comments.

Besides this fun side of the league, Jay and Keith have been trading away left and right. The rest of us are a little leery of Jay's trades. But he keeps sending them. I am not sure I am confident enough to trade anyone, especially someone who has NBA knowledge. While chatting with Janel about trades, she explained that once someone wants to trade, she instantly wants to keep that player. If someone else wants them, maybe I want them? I have that same exact problem. It's hard to let go of someone on your team. You get attached. You think they are good. You think they will improve. And you don't want them to score points for someone else while you end up with a stinky player. For me, it's a whole other name I have to learn to say and remember that is also a draw back to trading. (Tougher for me than it should be.)

Regardless of all the swapping, the league hasn't changed too much.

Here's a look at Week 6 points and standings:

Adam Silver's Henchmen League
Team Name Owner Total Points Record
Manimal Crackers Cole 5,220 5-1
m.A.A.d. city Jay 5,405 5-1
Bikini Bottom Nash Potatoes Brenna 4,685 4-2
STRO LOKO Chris 4,807 3-3
Lawrence - Pump Fake Piggies Janel 4,441 3-3
Make It Happen Matt 4,201 3-3
I Drafted Injured Players Dillon 3,988 1-5
Team Cougars Keith 3,939 0-6

This week I play Janel! Woo woo. I am probably not going to win because Kevin Durant's team (OKC) only have two games. But I am still excited!

  • Bikini Bottom Nash Potatoes vs. Lawrence Pump - Fake Piggies
  • Team Cougars vs. Manimal Crackers
  • I Drafted Injured Players vs. STRO LOKO
  • Make It Happen vs. m.A.A.d. city

Keith keeps threatening that he will be a force once his team heals, but we'll see.
