My Happy Mail Swap items are ready to be sent.

Back in June, I saw an image flash on my Instagram feed about a Happy Mail Swap. As many of you know, I love sending and receiving mail, so basically this event was tailored to my interests. All I had to do was sign up with an email, wait for my person, buy paper/craft supplies and send a package — all totally doable and fun things.

Thanks, Design Roots and My Paper Pinwheel for setting up the mail swap! For everyone else, if you like calligraphy or paper crafts, their sites are super cute.

The actual mail swap went down while Cole was in Alaska (Another story that needs told, but probably should be done by a guest blogger. *hint hint* Cole). So, I searched the city for cardboard, kraft paper and string — the three items my Texas swapper liked. Unfortunately, I am dumb and didn't totally understand what cardboard meant, so the box lacked in that area. Turns out, she just likes the texture of any cardboard. Maybe next time I'll understand better.

I had fun finding supplies and practiced my calligraphy with some simple tags.

Regardless, I found some pretty fun stuff that I would have loved to get. She got:

  • string.
  • paper rope.
  • kraft tags.
  • kraft labels.
  • krafts cards.
  • Cali sticker.
  • sucker.

Yay, it all fits in the box.

I'd be pumped.

I had lots of fun putting this together, as you can see. I color coordinated everything, created the labels, tapped them all on and sprinkled paper flowers within the box. She basically opened a craft explosion.

The reason this only became a kinda #HappyMailSwap14 was because I never got a box. :( With her sending it when she did mixed with us moving compounded by the poor mail management at our apartment complex, this just didn't work out so well for me. Whether it's lost in California or never made it out of Texas in one piece, I'll probably never know. My sender was sad, and so was I. And because I was so excited to participate, the whole experience sank.

Will I participate again? Maybe. I still had fun even though I didn't end up with new supplies, which included stickers, blank cards and washi tape (all my favs). But, I can't give up on mail, so I'll probably be back at it.

Next time I see a mail swap, I'll try to broadcast it so you can try it with me. Everything is better with friends, right?!?

I kinda wanted to keep all these fun things.
