KU Alumna :)

Posted by Brenna Long

I’m a KU alumna! I made it. I walked through the Campanile, down the hill and sat in Memorial Stadium on Sunday.

I was not sure that day would ever come. All the early mornings trudging up the hill to class made the easy walk down the hill seem light years away. But I finally made it.

Now on to the next phase in life. Well, I suppose “phases” is the more appropriate word. Cole and I now have an apartment, no more student housing. He has a grown-up job, and I am on the look for one. (So if you know of any jobs in Lincoln, feel free to contact me.) Then the wedding happens June 11, which is just a few weeks away.

So while my life is kind of shuffled up right now, I want to say I haven’t forgot all of the people who care about me and have been a part of my life. Thanks mom and dad for helping me through college and encouraging me along the way. Thank you grandma and grandpa for all the cards and encouraging words I looked forward to in my mailbox. Thanks Cole for all the miles you drove and all the late nights. Many of those late nights were your own doing though, sorry. Thanks Kali for keeping in contact with me even though I am horrible at it. :) Sorry. What would I have done without lunch dates for the last three years, Janel? Probably been sad and starved. We will have to figure out how to bridge that three and a half gap between us now. I am definitely going to miss Michelle, Ali, and Kelli in Ellsworth. No more Fist Pump For Jesus.

As I started this list, I realized there are too many people to thank and name. Hundreds of people have helped me get where I am. The Navigators, the Ellsworth staff, my professors, the TFC staff, my advisors, my employers, my colleagues, my friends in Lawrence and my friends from back home all helped me through college and set me out on this path.

You will always be a part of me, even if you are miles away.

Just to let you know how much I Love You and so proud of you! May all your hard work, late nights and early mornings, your numerous jobs, great friends, your smile and Love of life plus all the things you give and do for others lead you to your dreams. Wishing you the best as you go into the real world and get a real job-just like Cole:) Always trust in the Lord and the door will open. But always remember you can call your Mom: Love You
