Big caterpillar inching its way up the sidewalk.

On my daily walk, or at least daily until I can't stand the cold, I looked down and saw this giant caterpillar inching its way up the hill by the law school. I usually see a squirrel, dog or the occasional groundhog. This walk I got even luckier — a giant caterpillar. No joke, the thing was at least as long as my palm and hotdog-sized around. I am sure he will eventually turn into a prettier flying creature, but until then I just watch his wiggle up the hill. I got as close as I dared. I didn't want him to bust out any sneaky ninja skills and bite me or anything. That's not the type of adventure I want on a walk.

If you know what he is, feel free to post it in the comments. I did a little research but just came up confused. I don't know bugs, and don't care to learn.

By the time I rounded back, he had made it off into the grass.
