Photo Friday: Autism Awareness

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

Last month, I got to attend the Walk Now for Autism Speaks event in Lincoln, Neb., and take photos for the Lincoln Journal Star. When Cole and I arrived, we were surprised by how many people were there (2,000 total).

Lots of happy children and proud parents were at the event. You can check out the photos on the Community Matters website. . . .

Photo Friday: Creative Carving

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

Our jack-o'lanterns have started to wilt, but thankfully pictures do not.

Last week Cole and I both carved pumpkins from his grandparents. (Thanks by the way.) Cole decided to branch out and use a stencil this year. He had never punched the little holes and follow the pattern with his knife. While Darth Maul, some Star Wars character, looks pretty spooky, it took him a fair amount of time to get the frightening look. . . .

Green Speak: Coke Turns White for Their Beloved Polar Bears

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

Tomorrow, instead of finding the signature red Coca-Cola can sitting on the shelf, you'll find a white one. A white can reminding you to help the polar bears, the cute friends that has graced the Coca-Cola can since 1992. Together with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Coca-Cola is working to educate the public and raise money to help save the Arctic.

To conserve the polar bears' environment, Coca-Cola has pledged to give $3 million and is asking people to text in donations. During the holiday season, 1.4 million white cans will be made by Coca-Cola. The company is also expanding their reach by creating a film to tel the story of the polar bear and its shirking environment. TO learn more about the video and other ways Coca-Cola is helping the polar bears, visit ArcticHome.com.
