Photo Friday: And the Crowd Goes Wild

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

Last weekend, my family went to the Nationwide NASCAR races at the Kansas Speedway. My family had been jealous ever since Cole and I went to the races in Daytona during our honeymoon. They even got to watch the Sprint Cup drivers qualify.

As Carl Edwards passed Brad Keselowski, who had been leading most of the race, the fans went wild. The stands were definitely full of fans of Edwards, including my mom. To the crowds disappointment, Brad Keselowski ran away with the win, many car lengths ahead of Carl Edwards who got second. . . .

1. What's been the official musical instrument of San Francisco since 1990 - the accordion, the conga drum or the electric guitar?

2. What TV show opens by explaining: "Everything's made up and the points don't matter"? . . .

Sierra Clubposted a chart of different logos and what they mean: a green logo dictionary, in a way.

The list includes the USDA Organic logo, the cute, little Rainforest Alliance seal and the Watersense label. Check out all nine that by visiting Logo Land. . . .

Photo Friday: Sewer Cat

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

I wanted to venture around Lincoln and take some photos after work. Instead, the sky decided to turn dark and the wind kicked all of the particles that flare up my allergies into the air.

In other words, my photo fun was cut short.

I did manage to get a few snapshots, and the one I like best was of a sewer cat that was a little skittish. He bounded off as soon as I crouched down to get a better shot. . . .
